Jeff Peterson, Stanford Law School Class of 2011
I am delighted to welcome Jeff as a family law intern for the fall quarter of 2009.
Jeff is in his second year at Stanford Law School. He is the student leader of the
mediation pro bono project, serves as a mentor to two first-year law school
students, and is a Community Associate in the new Munger Graduate
Residences. In addition, Jeff is an active member of the Asian-Pacific Islander
Law Students Association and the Stanford Association of Law Students for
Disability Rights. This past summer, Jeff interned at the Office of the County
Counsel in San Jose.
Jeff received his undergraduate degree in History and Economics from the
University of California, Berkeley in 2000. After graduation, he worked at Morgan
Stanley as a research and financial analyst in Global Technology Investment
Banking in Menlo Park. In 2003, Jeff enlisted in the United States Army. He
graduated from Officer Candidate School in December 2003 and completed
his training as an Infantry officer in November 2004. He served in Korea with the
2nd Infantry Division, where he served as a platoon leader and assistant brigade
operations officer, and in Fort Drum, New York with 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain
Division. Jeff deployed to Iraq with his unit in August 2006 and returned to Fort
Drum in November 2007, completing the remainder of his service as the human
resources officer to the Brigade Special Troops Battalion.
Jeff is married and lives on campus with his wife. He enjoys running, weight
training, traveling, karaoke, and dining out.
